Amie + Brenden | Engagements - The French Farmhouse
There’s something really special about the way some love stories come together. The kind that makes the world feel a little smaller in the best possible way. That was absolutely the case with Amie + Brenden 🤍
Their engagement session actually came through the sweetest referral from our friends at Coco Fleur Events — and if you know me at all, you know I love good vendor friendships and connections. But then, somehow, in true small-town fashion, we realized there was already another connection there… my husband, “The Cowboy,” and Amie’s dad go way back. Small world doesn’t even begin to cover it.
From the second we met, I knew this session was going to be fun. Not the overly posed, stiff kind of session where everyone is worried about what to do with their hands. Nope. These two just fit together naturally. The kind of couple who can laugh at each other one second, then melt into a quiet moment the next, without missing a beat.
And honestly? Those are always my favorite sessions.
The stormy clouds stayed close, but never opened up on us- we got lucky! We were surrounded by some of the prettiest wildflowers Texas has to offer this time of year, and I don’t think we could have dreamed up a more perfect backdrop for them. The fields were absolutely showing off — soft greens, pops of color everywhere, golden evening light peeking through the clouds and the trees… it felt like something straight out of a movie. Every direction we turned gave us another beautiful little pocket of magic.
Amie looked absolutely stunning. That long blonde hair catching the light, and the kind of smile that lights up a whole field. And Brenden looked at her in that way every girl hopes to be looked at — calm, steady, completely smitten. You can tell so much about a couple just by the way they interact when they think nobody’s paying attention, and these two have such an easy kind of love. Comfortable. Genuine. Fun.
One of my favorite parts of any engagement session is getting to hear the stories behind the people in front of my camera. We spent part of the evening just walking and talking, hearing about how they met, how their relationship unfolded, and all the little details that make their story theirs. Those conversations are honestly such a gift to me because by the time wedding day rolls around, it already feels less like showing up to photograph strangers and more like getting to celebrate friends.
And if you know me, you know I fully support ending a session with a little chaos 😂
Toward the end of the evening, I pulled out some water pistols, and things immediately turned competitive in the funniest way possible. Suddenly, we went from soft romantic engagement photos to laughing, running, and trying not to get soaked! It was the perfect ending to a session that already felt so full of personality and joy.
Sessions like this are why I love what I do so much. It’s not just about pretty photos (although yes… Texas absolutely delivered 😍). It’s about getting to witness people fully being themselves together. Capturing the quiet moments, the laughter, the connection, and all the little in-between things that make a relationship beautiful.
I already know their summer wedding at The French Farmhouse Venue is going to be something incredibly special. If their engagement session is any indication, their wedding day will be full of joy, personality, heartfelt moments, and probably a whole lot of laughter, too.
Amie + Brenden — thank y’all for trusting me with these memories. I truly had the best time with you both, and I am counting down the days until we do it all again this summer 🤍
