Ohhhh this day. 🤍 Allison + Keagan’s wedding at Lucky Spur Ranch is one I’ll be smiling about for a long time.
Their wedding day landed right on the edge of chaos — the day before a massive North Texas ice storm was forecasted to roll in. You know the kind us Texans aren’t big fans of … grocery stores wiped clean, weather apps screaming in red. 😅 And while the air was cold and a little rainy, it didn’t matter one bit. Lucky Spur Ranch showed up and showed out… I mean did you even have any doubts… offering endless cozy, covered, and downright gorgeous spots that kept us dry, warm-ish, and totally in the moment. Not a single ounce of joy was lost to the weather. If anything, it made the day feel even more intimate and intentional.
And these two? Absolute pros at handling pressure — which makes sense, considering they’re both first responders. There’s something extra special for me about photographing first responder couples. They live life with purpose, grit, and a deep understanding of sacrifice. They know what it means to show up when it’s hard. It’s an honor every single time I get to take care of our own - especially on their wedding day.
One of the most powerful parts of Allison’s day was her three first looks — three sacred, emotional moments that set the tone for everything that followed.
First, with her daddy. Then, with her grandfather.
Two men who helped shape her into the woman she is today — strong, grounded, and unwavering. During his speech, her father described her as a formidable woman, and whew… that stopped me in my tracks. Strong, steady, confident, and sure of herself. Honestly? That tracks. From the moment I met Ali, I knew we’d hit it off. 🏆
And then came the third first look — with Keagan.
The way he looked at her wasn’t just love. It was admiration. Pride. A quiet confidence that says, that’s my person.Watching him hold her, knowing he now gets to walk beside her through every chapter ahead, was something really special.
As if the day couldn’t get any sweeter, the reception brought one of those moments you never forget. The tiniest tornado of a flower girl marched up, asked (very politely) if she could speak, and then completely stole the show. Her speech to Aunt Ali and Uncle Keagan melted the entire room. I’m talking misty eyes, full hearts, and a whole lot of “awww.” 🥹 Some moments don’t need perfect weather — they just need heart.
Cold rain, looming ice storms, and all — nothing could stop Allison + Keagan from celebrating big, loving hard, and beginning their marriage surrounded by legacy, laughter, and so much love. Their wedding day is a beautiful reminder that it’s never about perfect weather — it’s about the people, the place, and the love that fills the space. When you bring together a venue that feels like home, a team that truly cares, and a couple as genuine as these two, you get a wedding day that’s unforgettable in all the right ways. No matter the weather, their team creates an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly comfortable, with thoughtfully designed indoor and covered spaces that allow the day to unfold beautifully and without stress. When the rain rolled in and the cold set the tone, Lucky Spur didn’t just adapt — they embraced it, ensuring every moment still felt intentional, cozy, and full of heart.
And then there’s LS Catering. Chef Julio deserves his own moment here — because you simply will not be fed better at any venue. Full stop. Chef Julio and his team go above and beyond in every sense of the word, delivering not only incredible food, but exceptional service and genuine hospitality. The pride they take in their work is evident in every plate, and guests feel it from the first bite to the last.
Emerald Aisle Weddings and Events worked behind the scenes to keep the day moving and ensure each moment unfolded as planned. Tease to Please Hair and Makeup made sure Allison looked absolutely radiant from first look to last dance, while DFW Bartending kept the drinks flowing all night long. Teri’s Floral created beautiful blooms that perfectly complemented the day, DTE DJ-Photography brought the energy to the reception, and Bougie Burros added a fun, unforgettable touch that had guests smiling from ear to ear.
And y’all, Jenna — my second shooter extraordinaire — absolutely crushed it. From candid laughs to all the little details, she made sure no moment went undocumented. Couldn’t do it without her!
