Jennifer & Josh’s Old Town Lewisville Engagement Session | Coffee, Brutus & my hometown
Coffee + Sparkles at The Perc Coffee House
As I sit down to share these engagement photos, it feels especially fitting because today is the day.
Jennifer and Josh are getting married at Sunago Bell in Denton, and before they officially become husband and wife, I wanted to take a minute to look back at the afternoon we spent wandering through Old Town Lewisville together.
If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you already know Old Town Lewisville has my heart. The historic storefronts, local businesses, hidden corners, brick sidewalks, and incredible people make it one of my favorite places to photograph. So when Jennifer and Josh suggested Old Town for their engagement session, I was immediately on board.
And they didn’t come alone.
Their sweet pup, Brutus, joined us for the adventure, and honestly, he may have thought the session was all about him. He strutted through town like he owned the place, happily accepting attention while occasionally allowing Jennifer and Josh to sneak into a few photos.
One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to document couples in places and spaces that actually reflect who they are. For Jennifer and Josh, that meant good conversation, great coffee, and supporting local businesses.
We made our way through Old Town, stopping at some of my favorite spots along the way. We popped into Odin Leather Goods, where casual conversation quickly turned into discussions about custom leather gifts for friends. That’s one of the things I love most about Old Town—you never know who you’ll meet or where a simple stop might lead.
Naturally, we had to make a visit to The Perc Coffeehouse. As fellow coffee lovers, Jennifer and Josh were completely on board with turning a coffee run into part of their engagement session. Between warm drinks, plenty of laughter, and sweet moments across the table from one another, it felt less like a photo session and more like a date night with a camera tagging along.
We also spent a little time at Kava Culture, who graciously welcomed us in and let us create some really fun images. Their beautiful wall and stunning emerald-green seating area gave us the perfect backdrop for something a little different and added so much personality to the gallery.
The best part of the afternoon wasn’t any one location, though.
It was watching Jennifer and Josh simply enjoy being together.
They laughed. They explored. They loved on Brutus. They splashed around a little. They held hands walking down the sidewalks of Old Town. Every part of the session felt easy, natural, and completely true to who they are as a couple.
Those are always my favorite sessions—the ones that feel less like posing and more like living.
And now, just a few months later, the day we’ve been counting down to is finally here.
Today, these two are saying “I do” at Sunago Bell, surrounded by the people they love most, and I have a feeling it’s going to be every bit as joyful, genuine, and fun as this engagement session was.
Jennifer and Josh, thank you for letting me tell your story. I can’t wait to capture the next chapter today.
Here’s to love, laughter, coffee, Brutus, and happily ever after. 🤎☕🐾
